1981-1993 Gulf States Utilities Company – Project Engineering for 55 hop Microwave network
1984 to 1993 (a variety of projects for Gulf States Utilities Company) plan and design a 300 mile SONET Fiber network, Regional Digital WAN T1/DS1 Networks design and deployment, IBM SNA Data Networks support, Land Mobile Radio network development for 800, 450, and 48 MHz (Trunked – 32 site Smartzone 800 MHz), 15 site UHF, 50 site low-band VHF), EMI/RFI test and measurements, High-Speed Protective Tone Relaying Network Planning and Design (GE Type 10 – 40, MD-22, MC-22), SCADA projects and support for 300 substation Grid network. 5000 employee and 30+ locations corporate PBX network operations management.
1996-1997 Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company – 2 GHz to 6 GHz PCS migration project engineering consisting of a 100+ hop microwave system, conversion from analog to digital, overbuilt in sections with A/D Multiplex interface in each section, path engineering, site engineering (towers, batteries, shelters, etc.). Adding new functionality with Frame Relay WAN, PictureTel Video Conferencing, ISDN PRI PBX Networking. 40 million project budget.
1997 CMS Nomeco Congo – System Evaluation and Field Survey – Republique du Congo. Organizational and systems survey and evaluation of communications staff and equipment used to support offshore oil platform operations near Pointe Noire, Congo, in West Central Africa. Provided preliminary design engineering on onshore to offshore MW paths.
1996- 1998 City of College Station – Asynchronous Transfer Mode Upgrade – Planning, Design, and Implementation for private single-mode fiber optic, OC3 transport. LAN and WAN connectivity of Voice, Video, and Data.
The 1997-1998 City of College Station – Evaluation and review of the Citys information systems and telecommunications systems. Covered staffing, best practices, economic performance, local area networks, wide area networks, fiber-optic network, and category 5 wiring.
(1997 to 2014) Sam Houston Electric Cooperative -Network additions to existing microwave network, added 6 microwave paths, conversion of one 2 GHz to 6 GHz digital. Upgraded 8T1 radio to DS3 radio path. Planned, designed, and installed 5 950 MHz narrowband digital microwave paths to support tone relaying and mobile database stations.
Sam Houston Electric Cooperative (1997 to 2014) – Land Mobile Data, Computer-Aided Dispatch project. System planning and design engineering for a seven site 450 MHz mobile data network. Planning and Design of Conventional UHF systems.
Entergy (1995-1996)- Project engineering and field implementation of a 300 mile SONET fiber system. Installation, testing, and commissioning of an OC-48 Alcatel supplied system utilizing OPGW fiber on 138 and 230KV transmission lines.
1996-1998 Florida Gas Transmission – FAA and FCC Communications Structure (Tower) audit surveys. DGPS surveys. FCC licensing corrective filings and FAA aeronautical studies preparation filings.
1996-1997 Florida Gas Transmission (Enron) – 800 MHz Conventional Land Mobile Radio system design and project engineering.
1997 ENRON – Geographic Mapping of telecommunications facilities, evaluation of spectrum value by region.
1996-1999 ENRON – Engineering Support for land mobile radio and microwave licensing, PCN review, interference monitoring of PCS encroachment.
1996 to 1998 Transwestern Pipe Line Company – SCADA RF Engineering, Licensing for 450 MHz, and 900 MHz EFM hubs.
1998-2000 Northern Natural Gas (ENRON) – Land Mobile Licensing
1998 to Present City of El Paso – Planning and design services for support of a trunked simulcast 800 MHz public safety radio system, 15 channels, three mobile data, and AVL data systems. Microwave interconnect at 6 and 18 GHz. Permit reviews for Cellular and PCS tower construction applications.
1998-2001 County of Livingston, Howell Michigan – Provide consulting and engineering services to resolve portable radio and other radio system problems on an APCO 25 Astro Digital radio system – 800 MHz – State of Michigan Network. Planned and installed two 6 GHz digital microwave paths to support 800 MHz sites. 2 million project budget.
The 2000's - Present
2001-2002 Gulfstream Natural Gas System LLC – Engineering, design, project management for telecommunications and scada systems to support 800 miles undersea and overland natural gas pipeline system in Alabama and Florida. Extensive use of IP based spread spectrum 5.8 GHz microwave and IP based 920 MHz spread narrowband spectrum radios integrated with CDPD as backup communications. 7 million project budget.
2000 to 2014- Sam Rayburn G&T, TEXLA, and SRDEC – Engineering services for support of member cooperatives telecommunications networks. Planning and Design for a multihop narrowband digital microwave system to support tone relaying applications in East Texas. Tower Maintenance engineering and project management.
2000-2001 Hanover Measurement Services, Gillette Wyoming, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Planning, design, licensing for 900 MHz SCADA systems for pipeline operations, and gathering systems.
2000 to 2014- TEXLA and Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative – engineering and technical support for the telecommunications network, diagnosis, and repair of 6 GHz Alcatel MDR6000 microwave radios, Alligator Communications MAS radio systems. Planning and design for RTU site expansions using MAS radios.
2000 to 2002 City of Burleson – Evaluation of existing public safety radio systems for upgrades to new technologies with comparisons to 800 MHz, 220 MHz, and trunked 450 MHz.
2011 to 2014 – Comanche Electric Cooperative Association. Design and Build a 20 site IP Microwave network to support AMI and Co-op operations. This was a 3 million dollar project.
2015-2017 several East Texas Electric Cooperatives (multiple co-ops) Tower repair project for approximately 67 self-support and guyed towers. This was a 2 million dollar project.
2015-2018 Grid Network development and expansions at several east Texas Electric Cooperatives, modified a layer 2 network to a layer 3 dynamic routing network using OSPF BGP and MPLS. 300 nodes, 80+ links
2016-2019 NERC CIP program management and development to address new and changing standards for several electric cooperatives in east Texas.
2017-2019 NERC CIP and Cyber Security design for substations and power plants
2018-2019 Develop and Deploy a 24×7 network operations center for Grid Monitoring and Management
2018 – Cyber Security Vulnerability testing for multiple electric cooperatives
2017-2019 Grid Data Center Design and Deployment for operations supporting metering, cybersecurity, and network monitoring
